Does this show actually get good? I've just finished S1

no. the first season is as good as it gets. season 2 is alright, but season 3 and 4 are quite boring and you will probably get completely sick of ruth and claire by season 3.

it is worth watching just to get to the finale. the finale is really good and kind of tricks you into thinking that watching the show was worth it (it's not).

if you don't have anything else to watch and you want something to kill time, go for it. just don't expect it to get much better than the first season. the worst thing about the show is that all the dark morbid humor in the first season gets completely tossed by season 3 and it goes full melodrama.

My sister and mother loved this show, probably because they can relate to all the insane women, hehe.

The show is pretty good, but I have to admit that I started to watch the show in the background around season 3.

I would say keep giving it a chance, although it's one of my favorite shows. And like you've probably heard, the finale is the best you're going to get. I doubt I'll ever see one better.

I didn't have a problem with the pacing in the first season, but if you think it's slow, then maybe it's just a personal thing. I don't know what that other guy is talking about though, the show never loses its sense of humor. Yeah, sometimes it's less present, but it's definitely never gone.

it's a great show but that quality isn't there throughout. Season 1 and 2 are great. 3 is iffy. 4 is ok, and 5 sucks except for DAT FINALE

It has its ups and downs but stays fairly consistent imo. It's not going to get terribly exciting but the writing, dialogue, and character development make it worth the watch. If anything keep watching for dat finale. One of the best, if not, the best finale for a series ever.
