Well his mother probly believes a nigerian prince needs her bank account number to deposit his lottery winnings in or something. It's not far fetched in either interpretation. The mom call is the weak part of the episode but not even vitally important to the awesome story. I think most people like it because of how realistic it is TODAY instead of the 20 minutes into the future stuff it usually goes for.

The troll blackmailers literally couldn't be stopped, that was never in the cards. The build up of little things into bigger things and the codependence of the victims for their own reasons pushing other people farther than their comfort zone was pretty well depicted. Like I was saying Hector or whoever wasn't even really in trouble but he had a lot to lose for it. He's unwittingly the biggest villain for what he pushes the kid into. He was young enough to be swayed by some old father figure reassuring him and telling him it'll be okay when he's ensuring the opposite. There's not even anything implying the blackmailers HAD a plan and weren't just moving a bunch of pawns around seeing how far they can go. They obviously had enough spare people to go really far with it.

Very dark episode and very well done.
