Did anyone else like Kylo Ren? He was a semi-complex character

I like Kylo because his actor is good. He was good in Silence too. He's got that Ron Perlman ugly-as-fuck-but-captivating thing going on.

Kylo is based. I hope they don't throw him away but instead keep him as a main character

The scene where he screams traitor was GOAT. And the fight after it was good as well. Him just taking his anger out on Finn, and then fucking Finn up when he managed to get a hit in.

Let's be honest, Finn was the only successful attempt at a complex character.

He was good. Jews just wanted to show a weak angry frustrated and confused white male but goofed by mistakenly making the most intriguing character in the film

He was likely an angsty, depressed child who latched onto the legend of Vader as a means of making himself feel more intimidating and powerful.

He actually hates being evil and his conscience is constantly telling him to stop fucking killing people, and to just go back to his family and the light. He can't, though, both because he's equated being good with weakness and because he feels he's already come too far to turn back. He thought killing Han would make his pain go away, but it only made it worse, so he's having a mental breakdown in the climax.

Kylo could`ve been fleshed out a lot more but I like him - a Dark Side character we haven`t seen in Star Wars yet.
You can argue Anakin was that but it just fell flat and booring - Driver did a fantastic with the character and the lines he was given.

That said, I`m very worried where they`ll take him - I think in the short-medium term he`ll be a lot more focused, properly menacing and Dark but eventually him killing Han will come and haunt him, leading to his redemption.

We already saw glimpses of that after the commited the patricide - he feels weak, shocked and confused. He thought doing what Vader did not do will only strengthen him.

Ultimately, Kylo is a good person. He has been deluded and is deluding himself in to thinking he has a chance of being what his ancestor was - if you end up begging Vaders ''corpse'' to empower you with his abilities, shit is not working for you.

I will not be surprised if in Episode MCMLXXV someone will be telling the tale of ''The Tragedy of Ben Solo the Decieved''.

I only watched the movie because he's jon snow in game of thrones xD

He was one of only two characters in the movie even semi decently written (Hux) and had the second best actor in the movie playing him. (Driver is great but Gleeson topped all of them).

He wears a mask because he strongly wants to be like Darth Vader. And he thinks the mask is part of it.

It's a part of his character traits really because the mask is not functional at all, it only hides his young face and alters his voice in an attempt to impose fear onto everyone else.
I suspect that he will lose the mask in The Last Jedi and stop being a wannabe Darth Vader after Luke tells him about the true last moments of Vader to try to reedem Kylo back, but that will only cement Kylo even more on the Dark Side while actually calling Vader weak because he felt the pull of the light, where Kylo straight up murdered his own father while feeling the same pull.
And maybe that's what that shot of the destroyed Kylo mask in the new trailer is about, Kylo dismissing the image of Darth Vader alltogether and becoming even more enraged and powerful because of it.

Or I'm just giving too much thought in this studio cash-in franchise I don't know
