the hell? why didn't he just live in the 1920's and visit the girl in the 1800's whenever he wants?
is that opie
He realized idealizing the past is kinda bullshit.

i thought at the end they'd reveal the girl in the 2000s was a visitor from the far future
such a missed opportunity
>reads book in which girl writes about him from the past
>can obviously change the future
>doesn't do anything about it
fucking idiot

FUCK! that would have been really cool.

Damn, i've seen this film for my first time tonight.
Why the representation of Picasso, Hemingway, Bunuel, Dali is so cartoonist?
Actors are so bad. Specially her parents.
Is Allen trying to sell Paris as trip destiny?
Mediocre.

Shut the fuck up, seriously. How hard is it to understand that the entire point of the movie is how we both idealize and caricature the past. They're not supposed to be accurate representations of their characters.
Movie is reddit-tier garbage.
Yeah, this film left a lot to be desired. Often felt like I was watching Woody Allen live out his fantasy of walking among his idols from the past - however, those idols were written in such a sophomoric and monofaceted way that whatever message the film hoped to convey got lost in the unbearable details of its content.

I thought the same fucking thing. It was all set up.
>"What's your name?"
>"Oh it's Gil (insert last name)"
>"Gil! The writer! I can't believe it!"
>he is confused, but the audience connects the dots
>they walk off in the rain

>a film about idealization of the past presents its charchters in an idealized manner
Wow, it's almost like it was the thematically correct way to present those characters
