>Still following the prequel meme that Jedi training=swinging a lightsaber around
Reminder that Luke only turned on his lightsaber once in Dagobah, again Yoda's advice during a test he failed.
>luke has the high ground
>I can infer the extent of jedi training from this one single shot, so let me start a thread to share my deep findings
>waling lightsabers
>having the high ground
>not having the full might of the oak tree on your side
George fucked up.

Didn't bother to watch the trailer because honestly, I'm kind of uninterested in the movie. Same as Thor Ragnarok. I'm really surprised that these feature trailers got stickies and temp rules before there was even a problem. It almost seems like advertising.

Thanks for sharing all that.

I'm really just kind of not interested in this movie, at all. I'll probably watch the trailer eventually just because I'm inculcated into Star Wars fandom but I'm not currently inclined to pay for a ticket to see the actual film, nor Thor Ragnarok. Appreciate your response.

The first Jedi training Luke ever received was with a lightsaber.
Obviously Jedi training involves lightsaber work. How the fuck else would they learn how to use it? Why even have lightsabers if they're not an important part of being a Jedi?

>Same as Thor Ragnarok
Great trailer for what will probably be Marvel's best film with an actually talented director and visual stylist who seems to really 'get' the material.
>inb4 treat muh nordic roots srsly!

Fuck off, shill.

Fuck off, he's just another point and shoot yes man

>Fuck off, shill
Weekend /tv/ is so epic
I don't think Marvel makes great films really, a couple good ones maybe, but this will break the streak.

It was his first training because it was improvise, Yoda gave him the actual training.
>Obviously Jedi training involves lightsaber work.
Right, but I doubt the first thing they do is teach him use the lightsaber.

>implying this won't be just a carbon copy of Luke's training on Dagobah

>he's just another point and shoot yes man
Have you seen WWDitS and Wilderpeople? He's an auteur. His films looks amazing and he has great comic and action timing and adaptability to different genres.
He also said he hasn't seen the previous Thor films or many Marvels flicks and doesnt care to, as he's making this as a self contained thing away from MCU meddling.

>OP does the same shit with his katana and calls it "training"
>being this much of a hypocrite

I guess your opinions are valid, and you're welcome to them. Personally, I don't care for the OTT-all-the-time juvenile stuff and I'm getting tired of it. Probably won't pay to watch Thor Ragnarok, but we'll see.
