Kong has the advantage of speed, agility, and climbing. He also has hands and feet for grabbing, giving him a good edge in close combat.

I'll also say that Kong is more intelligent. He uses the environment and tools to get the upper hand.

Godzilla has tough scales, sharp claws and teeth. His atomic breath can really fuck up Kong, but it will only work once. It takes a short moment to charge up and you can see it coming. The first time it will probably hit and damage Kong, but the next time he will be ready for it and dodge/counter it.

King Kong is a motherfucking pussy. In the US version of King Kong vs Godzilla from back in the old days they make him win and it's totally unbelievable. The monster that got killed by Curtis Falcon should not be able to beat up a monster that shrugs off tanks and F-86 sabres.
