You have to watch 3 before you'll feel anything for the characters. I agree it's filled with clichés and the writing/acting isn't always the best. The characters are desu dumb af.

That being said.. I shed a tear more than once during the 13 episodes. There are some genuinely sad moments.

If you can get past the first few eps you'll probably like it. It's infuriating at times, but the positives make up for it imo.

While there are no time machines in Legion (like there were in an Aubrey Plaza movie), there is a memory artist which can take people back to previous memories, astral travel, and the show has so many flashbacks/jumps and even frozen time that it might as well be time travel.

And there's a difference between "same" and "similar." In making Legion they basically merged Lost with One Flew Over the Cu-ckoo's Nest. Lost was basically made up as they went along, even designed to not make sense. Also compare the Dharma Initiative in Lost to the mental hospital David starts out in, or the mercs trying to take him down, or Summerland. Incidentally, compare the astral ice cube that Oliver lives in on Legion with the frozen wheel on Lost.

Wow, January Jones really let herself go.

This show is comfy as fuck for me. But my boyfriend gets triggered easily because he is actually mentally ill, and several times through out the short first season he was set off by the creepy yellow eyed king score, David having a panic attack, or some other trigger.
