>Liam Neeson not doing an accent
>Andrew Garfield doing an accent
?

Liam knows he can't do credible Portuguese so doesn't
Garfield thinks he can give it a go but nobody tells him to stop.
I blame Liam and kylo for not sitting him down desu
>>81497165
kylo was doing an accent too though
Neeson isn't a good actor, Driver and Garfield are.
You know what's even worse though? When Ferreira and Rodrigues are having that debate at the temple Ferreira makes a pun about the Japanese conception of divinity, "There's the Sun of God! God's only begotten Sun." but this pun doesn't work in Portuguese which the priests are supposed to be speaking.

Shoulda stopped for consistency sake then. Garfields accent was distractingly bad and Driver doing a credible one didn't balance it out at all.

Pretty much all the accents in the movie are cringeworthy meme-accents, latin or the native languages are barely used. Somehow most of the people they come across including random japanese peasants can speak english.

Garfield is pure shit and single-handedly ruins everything hes in. He cannot act and always comes across as Andrew Garfield regardless of role, same as Tom Cruise etc... except Garfield doesnt have charisma to speak of and no likeable traits.
>any american movie involving portuguese, ever
>they all so speak with brazilian accent
Simplesmente fode a minha acima, senpai
>>81497059
neeson was smart
the other 2 just sounded stupid.

>always comes across as Andrew Garfield regardless of role
I thought I was going mad for thinking this and never seen it mentioned before. Easily the worst part of the Social Network.
So how does this work?
We dubbed our movies in Italy, so I watch movies set all over the world in italian because they are dubbed but what's the excuse for Hollywood movies?
How do you explain an american actor playing g a portuguese priest but speaking English?
Doing an accent at this point of suspension of disbelief seems retarded

>How do you explain an american actor playing g a portuguese priest but speaking English?
Because a lot of people will just not see a film if it's not in English and doesn't have any recognisable actors.
