>Jeremy Irons:
>...actor Jeremy Irons explained his fear of a “revolution” following Britain’s Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s election. “I think both the Brexit vote and Trump, that was a cry for help from people who felt they were being ignored,” Irons told Vulture at the 5th annual Breakthrough Prize, where he was a presenter. “We’re going through a slow revolution when in 20, 30 years we’ll look back and see it started with the collapse of Lehman Brothers when we realized that unregulated capitalism is like unregulated water: It will drown you.”

>While Irons believes that capitalism is “one of the greatest systems, if not the greatest system,” he thinks it requires reform and regulation. “It has to be regulated otherwise it sweeps away the poor, usually. And I think we have to address that. I think the Brexit vote and Trump are both the same thing — what those voters were saying is, We feel government isn’t doing anything for us,” said Irons. “One of the reasons government, I think, isn’t doing anything for the poor or for society as a whole is because governments are bound by global capitalism and all their decisions are about trade. But there has to be other ways to run countries than economics. We have to think about ideas and social ideas.”

Fundamental freedom. TheEU has constitutional jurisdiction in EU member states.

I'm not a Brit, I'm a paddy, but a while back my government, the government that my people voted into power to govern our country, decided that it would be a good idea to start a rainy-day fund, so that the next time recession rolled around we'd have some buffer money to keep us going. The pros and cons of this situation is irrelevant. The point is that my democratically elected rperesentatives, before they could take action they viewed as necessary for the good of the nation, had to scurry off the the EU and ask for special permission first, because rainy-day funds aren't allowed in the EU, for whatever reason. This kind of thing happens all the time.

People who wanted out were happy to lose the dodgy 'benefits' of the EU state to be able to control, well, everything. You do realise the hatred of Aussies and Kiwi's to the British is largely born because we joined the EU, right? The Australians cheered when we left. They said they never had been more proud of us and closer to their ancestral home when we left.

the UK has a housing crisis, NHS crisis, education crisis and rescue service crisis. We have 400,000 more people coming in every year. White or black, brown or yellow, it cannot be sustained. We've destroyed several streams in the country and damaging rivers with water consumption for new houses. We have power problems as it is.

But with the EU we couldn't say 'no' to those 400,000 people coming in, they had a legal right to be here, even if they had criminal records.

The economic hit we take (and markets are growing, not shrinking, funny that) is made up for the long term cost reduction as we try and solve the countries many problems.

>>81331730
Brexit vote happened during Glastonbury, they did interviews with people there. 5 girls said they were upset that Brexit happened because "they wouldn't be able to go on holiday to Benidorm any more". >has a housing crisis, NHS crisis, education crisis and rescue service crisis.
See, I concede that they're all things which should matter in how Brits engaged the Brexit vote, but where I'm grapsing to see the link with the EU is that the EU doesn't bind the UK to having to accept anyone, since you lot aren't in Schengen. The only strong "EU country to Britain" immigration is that of Poles to the UK in 2004, where Brits willingly wished for cheap Polish workers to come here. Brits have a decent amount of reasons to be vindicative against the EU, but that of blaming their immigration on the EU is silly at best.

> EU we couldn't say 'no' to those 400,000 people coming in,
Why not? The EU doesn't have a uniformized asylum policy that I would know of, which indeed screws us over us who are in Schengen, but not the Brits, who aren't in the zone.

> is made up for the long term cost reduction as we try and solve the countries many problems.
Well best of luck. I won't pretend to hope that the economy in the UK staggers, so I genuinely hope that you'll make it out unscathed. Oh well cheers Brits.

There is a mandate for brexit, but no mandate for exit from the single market.
The exit from the single market is a political play. One which will cost every person in terms of employment, welfare and wealth creation.

>See, I concede that they're all things which should matter in how Brits engaged the Brexit vote, but where I'm grapsing to see the link with the EU is that the EU doesn't bind the UK to having to accept anyone, since you lot aren't in Schengen.

Sorry no, you're confused. The entire EU has freedom of movement and no internal immigration control. The only difference with the Schengen zone is that you don't even need a passport. If 200 million EU citizens wanted to move to the UK, while we're inside the EU, then there'd be absolutely nothing we could legally do to stop them.

Oh that is troubling then. Might be that I'd sketched up for myself this idea of British hypocrisy relating to this, since they were the only EU country in 2004 to be hoping for cheap labour from the nu-EU states, but come 2016 were the one's most mad about it.

Chinas downfall was due to it being the absolute local hegemony so long that it did not have to evolve, whereas the European nations were engaged in constant competition between each other, forcing them to do so. They've got their shit together lately, and are now doing pretty decent again.

Attributing the success of a civilization to just genes and colour of the skin is also grossly simplifying the reasons for it. There are so many factors, the political climate, the spread of ideologies, the actions of other civilizations, environment etc. For example, India was one of the wealthiest civilizations in the world, until they met the British. Since then life in India has been shit. Its not that the pajeets by their nature are stupid and incapable of maintaining a successful nation, but simply because they were assfucked by, at the time a more powerful civilization, they were considerably set back.
>>

Except they totally aren't. Farmers in the Yorkshire-area (who largely said yes to Brexit) are fuming because they will probably be bankrupted once Brexit goes into effect because they rely heavily on the inner market. But that was a totally predictable consequence.

So Britain has basically been begging the EU to be able to keep their place in the inner market. Of course, EU told them to fuck off.

Yes, for the time being. It is entirely possible that China will surpass us and become the dominant culture in the future. Maybe it could be said that whites (a bigass stretch, whites are not a monoculture either) have been the "best race" so far.
>>
>>81333322
Again our genetic component allows for assimilation by race such as in the US which makes us mono cultural enough to produce civilizations others can not. This is why no matter how divers a nation is each race has its own culture and none are equal

>De gaulle was a fucking worthless cowards who was happy to hide out in Britain
As with the remainder of the British army that had scurried from France, and had hidden out on their island? That argument's pretty poor, and bringing this up's idiotic anyways as Churchill was the one to plea for de Gaulle to come to him to the Britain from where to rally the Free French of the colonies. However, the British then embarked on a conscentious decision to be more allied with the Americans than fellow Europeans, and as such, de Gaulle had to exclude from the EU else they'd start campaigning for US interest there.

I disagree. For example the Irish have very little in common culturally or heritage wise with each other, yet are considered to be the "same race". I've also met many immigrants and their children that have assimilated perfectly fine, with the only differentiating feature being their looks and maybe an accent.
>>
>>81333679
>>fuck up command so hard that within 6 weeks you get your ally's army encircled and lose your capital
Is what you're articulating that only the French should be accountable for having been fooled by the Manstein plan? Litterally no one either in the French or British army imagined that the attack into Belgium might be a faint, so I don't see why it is that the blame should only fall on the French...?
>blame your ally for this
No one ever said this though. At best, the French are slightly pissed that the British were more busy masterminding operation Dynamo to try to merge their forces with the French, and break the encirclement but that's litterally it (see Amiens meeting which Lord Gort missed).
Also, the French weren't for once considering an armistice in the moments before Petain staged his coup (the defeatist faggot), which was weeks following Dunkirk you idiot.
>call them cowards 70 years later
No one ever did this. I simply said that you can't de Gaulle a coward for being in England if I can't say the same about British soldiers.

Why is everyone on /tv/ so inept with hisory?
>>
>>81333772
This is my point m8 whites from many different cultures can assimilate together and become indistinguishable into a mono white culture such as in the US or any new host nation they arrive in. This is true for all races Haitians can assimilate to American black culture and become indistinguishable to African Americans fro example and no matte how long assimilated whites and blacks coexist or how diverse the nation gets each race will have distinct cultures which are not equal.
>>
>>81333852
Here you are equating looks = culture. Just because people look the same does not mean they belong to the same culture group.
