Why is it okay for all anime to be dismissed by normies but okay

anime has these bizarre, one-dimensional characters and a complete lack of humor. most of it seems to be puerile escapism where the viewer can self-insert with some outsider character who becomes powerful or important. the simpsons, family guy, or any other cartoon comedy has realistic, human characters that provide humor through believable, fallible psychogical profiles and/or cultural references. no one is watching these shows going "wow wouldn't it be way cooler to live in this world/if I lived in this world things would be different" like they do wth anime. hell, even a show like spongebob is more intellectually stimulating than most anime.
