>I think I have to go over there and show my face.
What did Kubrick mean by this?
Was he secretly a member of the cult all along?
>>81244499
doctorly duty dude
>>81244541
No, he was referring to his reveal at the masquerade, which was completely intentional.
>>81244499
>>81244527
kubrick was some kind of genius, it's obvious
>>81244631
Yeah I know Kubrick was sowing narrative seeds. My point is he does this kind of thing in a classy way.
>>81244636
>>81244754
He's pretentious is what he is.

Was Dr. Hartford a Tom Hagen figure? Did he plant Mandy on Ziegler, like the Senator in Godfather II?
>>81244856
>Senator Geary = Ziegler
>The lawyer Tom Hagen = Dr. Bill Harford
It adds up anons. He was in on it.
>>81244499
gorgeous filmstock. fast and warm af.
>"Can you open your eyes for me?"
Why didn't he tell Ziegler that he may have contracted something from Mandy/Domino?
>they were literally old friends seeking to rekindle a tryst at this point.

>Murato paints
Is this a Napoleonic reference? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murato,_Haute-Corse
Can someone explain to me what the fuck this movie was about?
>>81244499
i can explain
>>81244499
eyes wide shut... what has open but unseeing eyes? a mask. the film is about the masks we wear, the lies we tell others and ourselves about who we are. dr. harford (kubrick wanted to evoke harrison ford's rugged but safe american-ness with the name) uses his "mask" as a doctor to get a costume after hours, to get alan cumming to give him deets on todd field, etc. "Dr. Bill" is one of his masks. the latin word for mask is "persona"
>>81244499
nice trip dubs. now what's the password?
>>81245065
ziegler was never with domino
>>81245196

>>81247091

>>81247051
>the latin word for mask is "persona"
Now it all makes sense
Was Ziegler the one who was upset about Mandy? Ah fuck it.
Reminder that his daughter gets kinapped, possibly to be raped.
