be that as it may, the sex scenes in kite are still framed in a way to arouse you, they accentuate all the right parts and make the act look appealing to the viewer, even if its also meant to show sawa getting raped, maybe its just the fact that the dude used to make hentai so its just how he does the scenes on instinct, a lot of kite is similar to yellow star, where a girl gets drugged and rapped to an increasing degree, and that for sure was 100% hentai and had no real plot other than that.

Evangelion would be made on a modest budget; I'm thinking somewhere between 20 and 30 million. It would be the American equivalent of a tokusatsu, meaning that both the angels and the robots would be people in rubber suits, but they'd be aided by CG to blend in better with the sets, which, by the way, would be actually built on a sound stage. The goal would be to create something along the lines of Shin Godzilla, but without the moments of obvious CG.

The script would be jokier than one would expect from Evangelion, but not a full-on comedy. As much as it triggers you guys shit on Marvel movies, that's the kind of tone I'm imagining, at least until Cerebus syndrome kicks in towards the end.

Ideally, Edgar Wright would direct. If he turns it down, uh, I dunno who else to suggest.

And now, since it comes up in every discussion of anime adaptations, I'll talk about race. There's this idea that an anime adaptation should either be set in Japan and have an all-Asian cast or be set in America to justify a mostly-white cast. I want the Evangelion adaptation to be set in Japan and have a nonsensically mixed-race cast. This didn't work for Ghost in the Shell, because it tried to seem serious and realistic. Evangelion is a fuckin' tokusatsu movie, and while it does take its story seriously, it wants you to have fun, so some stage-show-y elements like colorblind casting would work.

I'd want Shinji to be Asian because his outfit matches what Japanese schoolboys wear and his haircut is something I've also seen naturally occuring in the Japanese. It'd also get the movie some brownie points with the SJWs, but that's just an added bonus. If he's white, though, I'd be cool with it.

Asuka, though, absolutely HAS to be white. I know she's canonically half-German and half-Japanese, but when I watch the show, I imagine Asuka as being a different race from Shinji, and I'd like that to be a part of the live-action interpretation.

They should stop doing adaptations. No way to adapt 99% of anime without completely massacring it. I mean GitS is pretty straightforward and not very culturally-bound and should have been easy to adapt, yet they still messed it up. If they really liked some and insist on doing it they should just keep it "inspired" and take basics of the plot and characters and do their own thing with them without pretending it's an adaptation - kind of like Edge of tomorrow(it wasn't really an anime adaptation but an LN but close enough)
