Where does this show rate among modern comedies? Need something new to watch but seems more of an emotional show rather than dark humour from what I'm reading.

No there's a lot of humor in it. This scene is from the first episode and is a good example of the type of humor in the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMpAWLjcKTQ

It has some dark comedy in it, but no one calls it a comedy. It's very heavy with melodrama and serious philosophizing.
there's a decent amount of dark humor in the first season, but it mostly disappears by the end of the second season.
it's not a comedy. it's 80% drama.

I know you're both children because you don't know the definition of a comedy vs a tragedy.

>dat frantic backpedalling

>but it mostly disappears by the end of the second season.
that just isn't true. season 3 has the gay paintball episode which is probably one of the funniest things they did.

mostly what i remember from season 3 and season 4 is being bored out of my mind with claire and ruth.
ruth is one of the most boring characters ive ever seen on tv

>implying i'm op and not just a six feet under fan who pointed out how ignorant you are

Ruth's storyline with Arthur Martin was hilarious too!

It's certainly full of dark humor but it's one of the most brutally honest dramas I've ever seen.
Who is best girl and why is it Brenda's mom
If you want a modern comedy go for Eastbound and Down

If we're moving the goal posts to go by classic comedy v tragedy definitions, then Six Feet Under is, by definition, a tragedy.
Nice try, shit for brains.
