This movie looks worse the more I see of it. That trailer with the pretentious "Last Supper" title was the straw that broke the camel's back, for me. Between the LAST SUPPER IT'S DEEP GET IT title, the two gay dudes wrestling and kissing each other (because that's how gay people act on the job, right?), and an utter cluelessness on the part of the director to sense that people on such an important mission would try to take their job seriously (see also: Prometheus) means that Scott is actively un-learning all that he knew since the 70s. Given that this is another mediocre script-writer to fuck with the movie, I have no hopes - I'll stick with fucking Resurrection of all movies. At least that garbage is funny and entertaining.

Regardless of whether or not what Scott thinks, the wonderful thing is that I can pick whichever cut of Blade Runner I want as the "canon."

Deckard being a Replicant cheapens the message of the film and more or less shows how Ridley can hold on to a dumb idea despite all evidence suggesting that it is in fact dumb. See also: Jesus was a Space Jockey!!!!

We should be a lot more skeptical of Ridley Scott's big "insights" if the great narrative twists amount to the above and "he wuz a robot all al0ng!!1!"
