Honestly though, the cast looks pretty good at this point. The kid who plays Richie was good in Stranger Things.
Maybe it was because it took place in the 50's, but the kids in the mini series version of IT didn't really even act like kids (with the exception of Seth Green).

And I hope they go their own way with Pennywise, because Tim Curry was great, but he did play it like a late 80s/early 90s slasher, and IT in the book behaved in such a way that as a kid I just kept picturing Jack Nicholson's joker, like this boisterous asshole always trying to not get pissed off.

The book fags always seem to leave out one of the bits that haunts me to this day.

When mike is detailing the new murders in the 80s he tells of a kid drowned in the toilet. The mother heard screaming from the bathroom and couldn't open the door but heard manic laughing and the toilet flushing. Repeatedly.

In one scene Eddie is being chased by Henry and trips over a kid on a trike who would grow up to have the kid in question who would "die screaming after a shape rose out of the toilet".

The repeated flushing and laughing still sends a chill
