Newfag here. I'm interested to hear /tv/'s take on Interstellar, one of favorite films but also admittedly deeply flawed the more I watch and think about it.

I really enjoyed Interstellar but /tv/ shits on it regularly because they hate the director.
>>81110040
It's shit and Nolan is an autist who thinks that all it takes to be Kubrick is to fuss over technical details. Never mind coherent and thematically consistent storytelling, it's all about those accurate satellite orbit-paths. That's what great filmmaking is.

let's pack 8 hours of plot and character development into a 3 hour flick just to see if we can

Why does /tv/ hate Nolan? Only reason I can think of is TDKR, the rest of his films seem to be pretty non-autistic imo.
One of my favorite movies ever. Note, I didn't say "one of the best" (although it's up there, top 250 at least). It's flawed in several ways, but I love it. The visuals, the story, but especially the MUSIC.
Hans Zimmer's best, hands fucking down. Watch how great this is.

Good:
>Great soundtrack, Zimmer didn't phone it in this time like he usually does
>Cool use of relativity, not enough films use this as a plot device
>Ending had emotional resonance which might be a first for a Nolan movie
Bad:
>I'm tired of every movie using the bootstrap paradox
>DUDE LOVE TRAVELS ACROSS DIMENSIONS LMAO
>Pretty slow and long
I'd give it a 6/10 desu

Did you ever think maybe it didn't litterally mean that love is a for e that travels through dimensions etc. , just that it's a good way to motivate people to do incredible things even when separated from their loved ones?
>>81110495
This is what it does mean in the film. It's just that autistic Reerees think that they meant it literally because they think everything is literal.
>>81110495
>>81110518
Brand obviously does mean it literally. That was her entire justification for wanting to go to the other planet. "I love him, and this love transcends time and space."
>>81110495
>Did you ever think
This is /tv/. People here don't think, they just parrot whatever they read somewhere to fit in.

the power of autism im not even joking

It's the best Star Trek movie of the last 20 years
