Oh yeah, the skinjob calling him a traitor
That's rich
Starbuck! What do you hear?
>>81087190
>>81085881
This is the thing - he was factually correct.
When he said that there was no way the civilians of the fleet would accept the very Cylons who nuked their entire civilization, he was right
When he said that Adama had allowed his affections for a Cylon cloud his judgement, he was right
When he said that they weren't the same leaders that they were when they first set out years ago, he was right
And he didn't want to just outright airlock them - he wanted them brought up on charges and made to face what they'd done.
Gaeta was the most loyal officer there was.
What do I have to do to get cylon girls to like me

Then grab your gun and bring in the memes!
>>81089694
What's wrong with the takeoffs/landing?
>>81089928
without gravity there is no need to do a controlled descent. you could simply match the speed of the ship and dock
>>81089694
they were propelled by electromagnetic rails to give their initial velocity so that they didn't burn fuel getting up to speed...don't see whats wrong with that...
landing like that is also only logical until they can be reloaded into the launch tubes
Who /Cain/ here?
>>81090064
launching ships on rails only makes sense if you can direct launch exactly where they need to go. otherwise the ships would have to burn extra fuel simply to correct course.

Babylon 5 did the whole newtonian flight thing, so its much more realistic. especially the fighters with their x-wing design that actually makes sense.
(Human pilots wouldnt make sense though, even by todays technological standarts.)
tfw had a crush on racetrack
Why are BSG threads among the most comfy and civilized on the board?
>>81090851
Yoooo I'd race her track while I trace her rack
>>81090827
Didn't B5 also do the whole "ship jumping in atmosphere" first or was that in original BSG? I don't rightly remember.

>>81090213
She was perfect if you wanted military dictatorship and was right in her way. It's also easy to see Adama would've went down that road if not for Roslin to balance him out with a civilian angle.

Lee Adama did NOTHING wrong

>>81091065
Hold on a minute.
DO you remember when the show was riddled with incomplete story arcs and a trillion plot holes?
I do, because this show is a steaming pile of shit.

This isn't no Babylon 5
>>81091299
You got that damn right, and to think this is rated an 8.7 on imdb
Got myself the Moebius Battlestar Pegasus model kit a little while ago.
Gonna have my shipfu on display in all her glory soon.
>>81089658
I liked their model for how the ship's weapons worked. Nobody is aiming anything really, the ship just hurls a 100 tons of exploding steel into space per minute and odds are anything that gets close is going to be scrap
>>81091350
Still the best sci-fi we'd had in a loooong time, and the best still until the Expanse came along to join that club
>>81090051
they have artificial gravity in the exterior flight deck area for some reason. Maybe its easier to do it that way since real docking in space is very precise and very slow
>>81090213
She was an idiot who was obsessed with >muh revenge. Adama had Roslin, who persuaded him to look after the civilians for the survival o everyone. Cain had no Roslin.
>>81092186
her Roslin turned out to be a cylon, so you can see how that might send her down a different path
Did they ever explain galacticas jump drive or artificial gravity?
>>81092236
No because it's not that kind of show
>>81092228
Yup. I mean, she had her reasons. But it was definitely for the best she was removed from command
>>81092236
Jump drive works by folding space to instantaneously travel.
"The red line" is the maximum distance the ships computer can calculate a jump because planets and stars move through space and when you're looking at them you're seeing them hundreds of years ago.
>>81091818
Enterprise was better.
>>81092236

>>81092236
the BSG Writer's Bible covers the mechanics of how their FTL works.
It's some kind of space-time pinch, it "swaps" the area of departure with the arrival point.

>>81090336
They always manoeuvre the ship before they launch them so they're facing the target
>>81097030
This, it is obvious from the pegasus episode where both ships launch directly at eachother. There are also launch tubes on either side of the ship so as long as your target isn't in front or behind you then you're set
>>81090569
All the battlestars with shit pilots got raped as soon as they ran out of ammo for suppression fire before the pilots took out the enemy batteries.
>watching the scene where Cavil takes the piss out of Chief Tyrol

>>81097159
>There are also launch tubes on either side of the ship
Yeah but they can't easily move the fighters to the other side of the ship, and they aren't interchangeable as their callsign is written on them.
>>81097347
Why did Lee get so fat anyway? Did the actor get pregnant during filming?
>>81085479
That poor guy is always pulling a shift.
It's never anyone else raising the alarm. lol
>>81097359

>>81089513
Because your crew won't take you seriously if you sound like a fag.
Even the secretary-general understands this.
>>81091114
Why did he get fat lol?
>>81097565
Fat Lee was just meant to show how like a lot of people had no idea what to do in "peacetime," along with the lights on the ships going in and out and whatever else
>It's a Cylon snaps a baby's neck scene
That was honestly the most disturbing thing I've ever seen on television

they expanse is good but it's not quite the same.
Galactica was all about the characters...
Adama, Colonel Thigh, Lee, fucking BALTAR

I wish we got to see more of Head-Baltar
Head-Six just got to be fucking boring after a while
>muh God
>>81094100
so if you could make a jump into an enemy ship it would send them away?
>>81099873
I thought head six was pretty lame from about the start
>>81085881
>when he stops feeling leg pain
> :(
After I found out we do live in a created simulation thanks to math, science, and visuals I feel so much better about the ending to this show. It really is like pottery man so fucking good. 25+ years of being a fedora tipping atheistic heathen I now have closer.
For those looking for it as well I recommend looking up Eric Dubay, its a real life changer a fucking life changer
So i heard it starts of great but then goes downhill. When do i stop watching?
>Thread's been going for over 7 hours
>>81091114
What was the point of this?
He literally shed all the weight in the next episode
>>81100948
Start at the very beginning with the miniseries
Then watch it episode by episode until you get up to around halfway through Season 3
The episode with the boxing tournament is basically when it all starts going to shit.
>>81100948
I thought parts of s3 lagged but s4 was almost as good as s1
From what i remember most people disagree but I didn't watch it live so I never really caught up with the Serious Fan Opinion
Why did I want to fugg Starbuck even though she wasn't attractive and had a shitty personality.
>>81101032
>s4 was almost as good as s1
No, it really isn't
The one thing that every BSG fan agrees on in these threads is that the writer's strike fucked over the second half of Season 3 and Season 4.
Aside fromRevelations, The Oath/Blood on The ScalesSeason 4 was really bad. Filler everywhere, plot threads completely droppedlike the magic virus that kills Cylonsand character arcs completely backtracked.
>>81100948
I dropped it in the 2nd half of season 3.
>>81101027
I loved the boxing episode, I can understand why people don't like the series as much in season 3 and 4, but I do not understand the hate for that specific episode.
>>81102578
same
>>81102578

>>81103340
