Is there a single western that holds up to The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly?
Great Silence
Unforgiven
Outlaw Josey Wales
>>81051085
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Searchers
>>81051085
Cowboys and Ayyliums
A Million Ways To Die In the West
City Slickers
>>81051085
For a Few Dollars More >>>>>>>>>>>> The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
>>81051085
For a Few Dollars More is the best of the trilogy
>>81051085
Tombstone, but GBU is better still, different styles ofcourse
I found the lack of lip synchronization distracting.
The Good, the Bad and the Weird
>>81051223
but the plot isn't as good despite having a good vilain
>>81051223
>>81051234
If FaFDM was as sprawling as TGU then it would be the better film
>Blocks your path
Do what you must, I have already won.
1. Good, Bad and Ugly
2. Once Upon a Time in the West
3. Django Unchained
4. A Fistful of Dollars
5. For a Few Dollars More
6. Tombstone
7. Unforgiven
8. Duck You Sucker
9. Wild Wild West
10. True Grit
>>81051085
for a few dollars more
>>81052189
Jesus Christ, I'm not even sure if this list is supposed to be ironic or not.
>>81052189
Django is worse than the rest of your top 7 at least
few dollars more is way better than fist full of dollars and once upon a time in the west
>>81052189
>wild wild west
>>81051223
>>81051234
This is objectively false. The first two were Leone getting his bearings, TGTBTU was his masterpiece. I'd say Once Upon A Time In The West is the only thing that comes close.
>>81052254
Pretty good list, desu
But I understand you have a need to be a contrarian faggot.
>>81052921
maybe good bad and ugly is the better film overall
but this is the best scene in the trilogy hands down

>>81052994
I disagree, but it wasn't bad.
Though I don't like that both movies end with three guys standing in a large circle facing off. Kind of lazy, but it worked better in TGTBTU.
I just didn't like the chimes desu
>>81052959
>Wild Wild West
Really?
>>81053102
I didn't see that.
Replace it with Pale Rider
McCabe and Mrs Miller
Rio Bravo
The Magnificent Seven
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
Unforgiven
The Great Silence
The Searchers
My dad's a western aficionado, his favorites have always been Shane and the original True Grit.
>>81052994
>implying
HE JUST CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!

on a serious note, the match cut at the very end of this scene connecting the murders to the railroad is insane. Even the sound effect connects them perfectly and it's one of those things that shouldn't have worked but it did.
>>81051947
It's a shame Bronson was the lead. Really the only thing that brought the film down for me, I like him in B-movies, but I can't take him seriously.
>>81052592
The song Wild Wild West was, by far, the greatest thing that has come out of Will Smith's career, so the film can't be that bad just for facilitating the creation of that masterpiece.
>>81051223
Contrarian's meme opinion
>>81051085
Tuco did nothing wrong.
Best character.
>1.The Good The Bad The Ugly
>2.Fist Full of Dollars
>3.Few Dollar More
fight me.
>>81053189
prefer the ending scene where it finally explains the harmonica
but as other anon said bronson detracted from it a little
if it was eastwood it would have been better
>>81053251
If we are counting Wild Wild West then we may as well just count Back to the Future 3 and West World as westerns.
>>81053195
Pretty sure Claudia was the lead
>>81053366
Her tiny hat distracted the shit out of me.
>>81053388
Better take some ritalin there you fucking sperg.
>>81053189
McBane?
>>81053461
MENDOZA!
For a Few Dollars More is better
What the fuck is all this anti-Bronson bullshit?
>>81053330
Bronson is great at what he does if you cut out all of his 1980's Cannon movies. I thought he was perfect for the role. Plus it was Henry Fonda's movie anyways.
>>81053461
>If I killed your family would you cry?
>It would be extremely sad
>You're a little kid
>FOR YOU
>>81053531
eyo
>>81053388
lol me too
>>81051085
True Grit. Both versions.
>not giving this an honorary mention
>>81053562
My guess is everybody is too young to remember all the roles he did other then Death Wish 123456

1. MwNN trilogy
2. Tombstone(can be 1st or 2nd)
3. Rango
4. Open Range
5. Appaloosa
6. Hateful Eight
7. Unforgiven
8. Django
The Wild Bunch is the best western.
What about the Western Genre lends itself to kino?
>>81054247
the geography of the locations makes it easy to check the cinematography box and make things look grand and striking
the ideal of a strong silent western man lends itself to meaningful dialogue that isn't filled with unnecessary chin wagging
>>81051085
fuck no.
Lonesome dove miniseries is bae
>No one's mentioned Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is western kino, I'll fight anyone who disagrees
>>81054394
its boring
>>81054559
Fite me John Wayne's westerns are boring.
I only remember the steak scene.
>>81054559

>>81053366
Yeah and she has the weirdest face I've ever seen.
