True, I am in the third episode and these are the only characters that are having some action and making the show worthy of watching. Honestly the Wachowskis should have just released two titles, one for an LGBT pride awareness and the other for sense8. We would all be much happier. Though I still can't fully judge since I'm only 3 episodes in.

It's a good show that is unfortunately used by its creators to push an ultra radical form identity politics. It actually mellows out in season 1 but the Christmas special ramped it up again, hopefully season 2 will follow season 1 and not be too heavy on the identity politics.

If this show really wanted to make a difference, it would replace the Indian woman for a muslim woman and focus on subjugation of women in Islamic cultures.

Exactly, I don't mind having a transgender as a main character but I think they misrepresented Transgenders and actually objectified them. Trans people aren't just about blogging, pride parades and emotional shit. They are people too and should just have a normal character that goes naturally with the plot. That's aside from shoving the parade shit down our throats.

I honestly doubt that the Wachowskis know anything about the contemporary islamic culture and even if they tried doing it, it would be too shallow and cliche and might get them into trouble too.

I saw the cast of this series on the Pride Parade in Sao Paulo last year (lol). They all looked high as shit and were recording scenes for the show on top of a truck. they were making out in front of the cameras (and behind too). seems like a cool bunch to party with.

I quit the show after episode 5 or 6 because it was so slow to progress. I thought the show was a bit overly obsessed LGBLTs, but that was a minor failing at worst, especially compared to the pacing issue.

Season 1 was great, awesome action sequences and the sentimental scenes were very nice, too.

Christmas special was weaker. It had its good moments (that whole sequence with them dancing and partying on their joint birthday was top-tier), but overall it felt more like a pastiche of season 1 (that whole orgy thing being repeated, for instance). Plus the new Capheus is not as good as the first one. If they don't do something radical and unexpected with season 2, this show will sadly turn into shit.
