It's terrible. Deer Hunter had a good payoff so it was worth sitting through the endless wedding sequence. There are multiple "wedding sequences" in Heaven's Gate and it leads up to a terrible battle where the frame is filled with so much dust that you can't tell what the fuck is going on. It's so over the top that it had me laughing out loud. Heaven's Gate probably cinema's biggest catastrophe.
