I for one, loved this movie. It started off weak as I realized they fucked up the races. A mexican named Trini Kwan? An asian is the black ranger and the blue ranger is black?? The initial fight when they're in their power suits against the Rita's creatures on the cliffside was very reminiscent of the old tv show fights, very cheesy but enjoyable.

The autism felt a bit shoehorned in at first but they went on with it making the black guy clap all the time. The lesbian part was a one and done mention that was a bit awkward and never really addressed again.

Loved some of the throwbacks like the OG rangers cameos, the GO GO POWER RANGERS, and the "Make my monster grow" line. Lot of older people in the audience without kids there that were very giddy. Especially when they formed megazord.

Overall enjoyed it, wish there was less Breakfast Club BS "development" and more exposure to rangers fighting.

The death scene was just so out of place. The actors are so bad at conveying their sadness and it didn't make sense with its light-hearted nature. The director really didn't know what the fuck to do.

Red - Has no direction in life, no idea what he wants to do or accomplish, and does dumb shit to fill the void. Has parents who push him to be amazing even though the dad is a fisherman and the mom is never shown in the film.

Blue - Dad died. Has autism. All around best character in the film tho. No real problems other than the usual spectrum shit.

Pink - This bitch is fucked up. She has porn of her underage friend which she sent around the school. I loved the movie. I know that acting cool and make big complains about small irrelevant stuff is all the rage these days but I honestly had a good time watching this film which is funny since I wasn't very convinced by the trailers so I went to watch it just for the novelty fully expecting it to suck.

I was a bit bummed they shadowed the Megazord assembling sequence but other than that the cast held up pretty decently. Rita was an entertaining villain and the teen drama was well balanced and rationed to the point I didn't felt it cringy as it usually happens. I hope it makes enough money at least for a couple of the planned sequels.

Dude maybe I'm holding onto my rose-tinted glasses a little bit too much, but as a kid who barely caught onto the first wave of Power Ranger (i.e. I was too old by the time anything past the ninja outfit saga came out), I'd rather they stick to these costumes/zords, etc.
There's enough stuff to develop without having to go into different timelines and shit.

I just wish their suits/zords/putties were better. Rita was a little too lewd. Everything seemed to be too alieny. Also, they never fought small goldar and then big goldar. Just putties in their suits once. I didn't really have a problem w/ any of the cast desu. Most of my issues are with the special effects and music.

The Megazord bothered me, the 2014 Godzilla made it more akin to a Japanese design. The Megazord was the same bullshit with Goldar, he had no face which bothered me. The Megazord should've have the mouth part of the ranger's helmet at least to show that it's a powered up version of all their forces combined, rather than some faceless soul less robot, and to show it's roots of being a Japanese kaiju robot
