Really enjoyed the movie though. I thought Anno wouldn't be able to do a good job but he exceeded my expectations. I really liked how they tried to be as scientifically accurate as possible and they used that aspect of the film to become the main plot driver. Also, no forced romance subplot really made the movie better.

first subs anon here. i'm working on the signs for the movie, subsanon2 is working on dialogue. i'm working in .ass format right now, and i'm pretty sure subsanon2 is as well.

as for your question, we'll probably do both. see, it's incredibly easy to go between .ass and .srt. the only real difference is .ass has styles. placement and everything else should stay the same between the two. if anything breaks in the transition, we'll modify the srt accordingly so it still works.

Managed to get the 1080p version down to 9.2GB, and it looks nearly perfect, but some of the really dark areas suffer a bit. (x264 sucks at compressing blacks.)

I'm going to try to give it a bit more bit rate to see if the super dark blacks can be fixed without increasing the size by a whole lot. I'll try to get a 720p version out too.

subanon2 has an existing script to work with, I've had to do my own translations for almost everything so far. See, the cam rip we're working with is angled downwards for parts of the movie, so for those parts I have to refer to the webrip. If that doesn't have it, I translate it myself. Translation takes the most time. Everything else is pretty quick.
