Its the same thing thats been happening for centuries and will continue to happen. Why do people think that video games/movie reviewers are much different from people who critiqued plays and the like years ago? Other than the media which delivers the praise/criticism.

As the average age of the internet literate person increases, the people in traditionally "young" mediums will become more diverse in age. Some new thing comes along, the kids adopt it, and the old people slowly embrace it, or grow up with it, until it is the norm. Such is life.
