What are your guys' thoughts on Jurassic World? I think

You summed it up pretty well anon. It's the epitome of the soulless hollywood nostalgia baiting that's been popular for the past couple years, and it's not gonna stop anytime soon.

BDH was pretty hot it in it though. That was the best part of it desu.

As a recent blockbuster loosely based on jurassic park, trying to bring the concept into modern times and all, it's alright. Somewhat entertaining.

See the thing is, Jurassic World was never good. But CG had just gotten to the point that we could make some pretty convincing scenes with it. So all the super realistic dinosaurs were a technological and cinematic marvel at the time.... one that had never came before.

Even the original Jurassic park, without the novelty of being a brand new cutting edge cinema, it's just a plain monster movie.

So naturally recycling the same plot these days when cg on that level is a dime a dozen, is nothing impressive.

but Bryce Dallas Howard is beautiful and she did add quite a bit, at least for me.

I watched Jurassic World and I felt like I got exactly what I expected. I don't know how anyone could have expected more.

Jurassic Park, like Independence Day, or Armageddon; is not even a good movie by modern standards. They were just amazing ground-braking special effects for the time and were successful based on just that. It's not like there's an incredibly deep message or engrossing plot to any of them (though there is a moral message hammered home with the subtlety of a brick thrown through a window).

There's a very, very, very good analysis of both this one and Jurassic Park that would reveal a lot of interesting points if you like the franchise.

It's a lecture of a guy, about 30min long, on how basically Jurassic Park is a movie about family and the evolution of a couple in that relationship, and Jurassic World is dinosaurs and people running.

It's so bizarre. All those scenes that refer to stuff that was cut from the movie, the whole bit with showing an aerial reveal of the park while the original theme plays but it's just a bunch of restaurants and a gaudy pyramid-shaped visitor's center, the t-rex and the raptors almost high-fiving at the end... I had no idea how to react to this movie.
