>Villain is a murderous psychopath who's killed thousands of people
>Hero is about to kill him after a long battle
>Female character: "NO! DON'T DO IT!"
She's right. If he does kill the villain, the hero will turn into what he's tried so hard to destroy.
>Two characters are at each others throats for the whole film
>At the climax before they team up to defeat the big bad it's revealed it was all because of a simple miscommunication.
>Hero kills him anyway
>then kills himself so he doesn't become like him

>female character: "you'll be no better than him"
>next scene: cops locking handcuffs on villain's wrists

this whole "you'll be just as bad as them" meme needs to fucking end. No there is a huge fucking difference between killing someone and killing someone who fuckin deserves it

I'll never understand this shit.
How does killing 1 evil person make you the same as them? Let's say Person A killed 1000 people, and Person B kills Person A to prevent A from enacting any more genocide or whatever.
B is now just like A? That's just retarded.
Reminds me of a sidequest in TW3 where you have the opportunity to kill a guy who tortures, mutilates, and murders prostitutes. You can also say "I'll not sully my blade with your blood" and let him live as he begs for forgiveness. Truly evil people deserve death, or at least some means of preventing them from ever doing harm unto others ever again.
I mean come to think about it, rotting in prison can seem worse than death but I feel you can argue either case. Regardless, it's absolutely asinine and downright childish to think that killing someone makes you like them. The writer who first coined this garbage needs to have their fingers broken.

"Bad guys" kill people because they think they deserve it too. Their threshold is just a lot lower.
Sometimes morals have to be absolute in order to hold any kind of objectivity.

Funny how this statement happens to be true in one very particular case.
>>80814434
Yeah well anyone who isn't a fucking retard can judge if the badguy is killing innocent people and dispense justice accordingly. Bad guys might think they are doing good but anyone who isn't fucked in the head can decide if thats true or not.
