British TV values different things than US TV.
Attractiveness is mandatory for US audiences, it is not in the UK, quality and good humour are.

Brits have a specific look to them. It's racial. Europeans are all Caucasian but we evolved in different places and bred with other Europeans. Britons are a mongrelized race of Celtic, Anglo Saxon and Norman. I don't know how to explain that they look off.
