I just don't like anything about it, I find it obnoxious.
Same goes for the scene actually, I think that they got carried away thinking "well this is the final, definitive moment so let's make it super dramatic" it's just too cheesy and actually doesn't have much impact, they could have gotten away with toning it down a LOT and just focusing on the things that matter to get it out of the way.

I see what you mean, anon. It was better in the book reading up to the battle at the Black Gate then switching back to Sam/Frodo at Cirth Ungol all the way up to the Crack of Doom. But unfortunately the movie was forced to constantly switch between the rest of the Fellowship and Frodo/Sam every 20 seconds at the end.
