Fair point. The social relations seem rather gloomy in this film. "Trust no-one" is the rule of the thumb. That checks with the philosophy stated in 70s Star Wars with the exception of Benwalker, droid buddies and Hanbacca. Seems the only relief in this hell is the Force, which joins the Jedi with the Universe, so he doesn't feel alone and abandoned.

Just finished watching the movie, no joke, just a few moments ago.

VERY pleasantly surprised. Apart from some pacing issues, I think I enjoyed it more than the Force Awakens. Pretty darn decent writing and story from a blockbuster of this caliber is pretty rare, felt like a very natural fit in the timeline of the other films, too.
