I think what most anons on 4chan are forgetting is that this is a theater piece, and in theater you're supposed to act differently than in movies. Your speeches and movements have to be exaggerated and you need to look a lot at the public so that they can hear you and see your expressions without acoustic problems. You're just too used to see mild acting in movies, because in movies we have all this shots that help us know the expressions and deep thoughts of actors with help of the angles and cameras. But in real theater, the actors have to over-act so that the public can see and feel things they would not see or feel if they talked normally. I have seen many theater pieces and I think Emilia did a good job. She wasn't stunning, but she wasn't bad either.

Yeah. To be fair, acting in theater is often more... well.. theatrical.

Though some plays do go for more natrual acting like in film, especially with modern sound systems or even video displays, most plays like this one are still old fashioned. They act like you need to project to the back of the rafters. I find a lot of animated voice acting does this too and they usually draw from pools of actors with theater backgrounds.
