So, first I think it is crucial to understand why this idea was posited.

There was a picture posted to the internet by Genndy (or it could have been Lamar) about four or five months ago from what was a VA sessions.

Now, they accidentally let loose some pretty big spoilers in this image. Despite it literally just being a picture of Lamar, Tara Strong, and Grey Griffin in a VA studio.

Outside of the studio, and in the foreground, was Genndy sitting in front of the mixer along with the sound engineer, and above them was the monitors showing the lines they were supposed to be reading (in storyboard form).

You could barely make it out, but essentially from these we learned:

>Jack gets captured at some point
>Ashi was the name of the "main" daughter of Aku
>Ashi is going to do something to save Jack despite him insisting there must be another way

This mutated into: "Ashi is going to kill Aku", which doesn't make sense when you understand the context being Ashi making some sort of sacrifice to save Jack.

Also, Baldwin wasn't in the picture so it's doubtful this had something to do directly with Aku.

The Aku scene in the second episode is the only criticism I level against the newest Samurai Jack. Not because I don't have problems with other things, but because it was so horribly stupid. No psychiatrist couch, it was just too obvious.

I really liked them. The animation is dead-on and seem like a natural progression. They're not just making this for new audiences. I feel like they knew they had a new opportunity on Adult Swim to get the old fans back and watching it.
