I have watched this film at least 5 times, falling asleep with each viewing.

It has excruciatingly slow pacing which builds to nothing.

I can see how people are all about the visuals, but only if you take the year made in account. I do not think it holds up at all, everything looks like a small scale model, which it is but still.

I was so very disappointed and judge anyone who reviews this as a masterpiece poorly.

if you arent into slow films, dont force yourself to watch.

for me, as a kid, i hated slow films. now i love them. your taste for slow films may change, it may not.

you ask what should you be looking for, or what do people enjoy about the film.... but the answers they give wont help YOU to enjoy it, because you dont have the same perspectives.

blade runner is all about atmosphere. a film which never takes you out of the world that has been created. the characters, the world, the ambience, the soundtrack. the 80s synths and 80s bloops and beeps.

those are the things i like in it. then theres the stuff that makes us human. what does it mean to be human or replicant. does dekkard question his own existance or does he not care?

see, all the above sounds retarded if you arent in the right mood for it. you'll say things like "but the matrix did the human/program thing better" or "what makes this any different than ex-machina?" or "its boring and i fell asleep and the characters all talk like its monologue in a play"

which are all valid opinions to have about the film. so i guess what i'm saying is ... after watching a few thousand films you may develop an appreciation for it. or not.

dont force yourself, dont worry if you dont like it either. some people never like this film no matter how old or experienced they are with films.
