Fuck me. This show had the most diverse cast of any Marvel series on netflix, including most of the movies as well.

They even shoehorned the night nurse into the fucking story. She had more screen time this season than both dare devil s1 and s2 combined. Close to 53 minutes of screen time just for her alone.

It was another case of triggered critics and white washing. Much like how they're pandering now to iron fist. The ratings on netflix where good. 4.5 stars universally. But it was critically panned on RT and other lib cuck review sites.

In Marco Polo's case it was entirely cost related. The show had become increasingly expensive to continue. Not many other networks where interested in Sync rights either. I think season 2 was nearing 200 million in production costs. They had to choose between funding a 3rd season of that, or creating 10 other new pilots for the same cost.

IMO, it was one of Netflix's greatest original content.

I've only seen the first episode, but so far, the show is downright bad. The script is unoriginal and messy. Ward Meechum and his dad are such generic corporate villains that it borders on the comical. I mean, the dad even has a Smithers-style sycophant to abuse, and the Monopoly scene was downright laughable. Danny Rand himself feels unsympathetic. The dialogue is stilted and stiff. The characters keep making nonsensical choices. Why does Danny wait so long before pulling the old "I'm the real deal because I know you did X as a child"-card? Why does Ward, a public figure, send a known high-profile employee to do his contract killing for him on a public street? Why does Ward enter his car AFTER it's hijacked? Everyone in this show feels completely illogical in their actions. The asian kendo teacher is the most engaging character so far, but I suspect it's only because her limited screentime means the writers haven't had a chance to ruin her yet.

The problem, of course, is that the legitimate issues of the show are now being obfuscated in favour of made-up issues. If you dislike it, you are now in the same camp as the SJWs. If you profess to like it, you admit to having no taste. It's a lose-lose situation.

Lack of a budget killed it. No dragon. No real K'un Lun. The actually interesting villains were in it so briefly in episode 6. I thought the last guy he fought in the challenge was going to become a recurring character with a grudge after being beaten. He had such an awesome set up but we never see him again. Same with the drunken master guy. Then Davos turns out to be some terrible whiny english sounding dude. It should have taken more elements from the Immortal Iron Fist run though.

For the most part I like the show so far but I don't like how Danny was portrayed though with all the Chinese proverbs and altruistic hippy good guy for personality. I remember him being more of a down to earth pragmatist in the handful of Iron fist comics I've read.

He's also very weak looking for the role and constantly getting his ass kicked by seemingly untrained average fighters. Hopefully that gets resolved.

They've been testing the thumbs up/down system for awhile and have found it has a much higher rate of usage then the 5 star system.

As per usual, I made some filters for /tv/ to prevent spoilers related to this new release until I had the chance to watch it. Now that I have, I have to say that I find the current "controversy" hilarious. I had no idea that this newest Netflix original was under attack.

Great series, btw. Choreography on par with the best HK flicks from the golden era before the British handover. Kudos to the stuntmen, too.
