SHUT THAT DOOR, THERE'S A GODDAMN BLIZZARD OUT THERE
YOU GOTTA NAIL IT SHUT
YOU NEED TWO PIECES OF WOOD
ONE AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH
>>80612972
>7500cm film
>shoots exclusively inside giant house made of chocolate
why did tarantino think this was a good idea?
>>80613233
http://www.avclub.com/article/quentin-tarantino-doesnt-stream-movies-still-tapes-226005
>demand to direct movie with 35kilometer film
>personal collection of movies is entirely VHS tapes recorded off regular TV
Was it autism?
>cabin in the middle of nowhere in a blizzard
comfy kino

NOW GODDAMMIT
YOU GOTTA REALLY NAIL IT IN
>>80613233
So the movie can be re-released in 16K later.
>>80613233
A lot of stuff happens in the background, characters doing other things, etc. the use of space and blocking is actually pretty good and would look different on 35.
>3/4 through movie
>previously unmentioned villain pops out of secret hidden passage and shoots the main characters
GREAT WRITING!
>>80614108
This was the only thing that really bothered me
>>80613312
That's comfy
>>80614108
What makes this bad writing? What filmmaking rules does it offend?
>>80612972
He sucks at making Westerns, his quirky early 90's meta-dialogue doesn't work in any setting BUT the actual 90's....
Inglorious Bastards was a one off success thanks to Christoph Waltz and the fact Nazi's looked so cool, apart from that ONE movie he hasn't made a legitimately good movie since Jackie Brown.
Tarantino is literally a 'man out of time'
Every movie he made in the 90's was great, it was his era. Unfortunately his style doesn't work anymore.
He should go back to doing crime movies if he wants to finish his career with a good movie, someone needs to tell him his ''homage'' to great Westerns isn't working out and he's just making a fool out of himself.
Personally I think he gave up making organized crime movies when he realized he'd never make a movie as good as ''Heat'' or ''Goodfellas''
>>80614432
>bad writing
>filmmaaking rule
They are not necessarily the same retard. In this case both. He did what's called Deus Ex Machina.
>>80614499
>He sucks at making Westerns
You're wrong. Django was a tongue-in-cheek masterpiece.
>>80614506
That's not a deus ex machina you ultra pleb.
AAH AAIIN'T GOOT NOO GUUUNN
>>80614762
Django was absolute garbage. Hateful Eight was pretty great outside of the whole Channing Tatum shit.
>>80612972
Literally just watched this for the first time last night. It was a lot better than i expected it to be but was dissapointed about Kurt Russel getting killed off an hour before the end.
that movie was so bad
>>80614762
>its an ironic masterpiece!
hello cancer my old friend
>>80616182
>Django was absolute garbage.
>>80614432
Because it introduces an uninvested antagonist to the audience, when there were already 4 available. I do love the movie though.
>>80616480
i am bola man
>>80616567
So what, it was surprising. That doesn't mean it's bad writing, good writing always has surprising turns that you can follow. If you don't like it then that's just you
>>80613170
underrated
>>80612972
>movie is confined to one small area that slowly unveils its history and in turn unfolds the story
I fucking LOVE this sort of shit.
>>80616619
Because it's a cheap trick. Good guys are winning, then a new villain appears out of nowhere. If two minutes later another character popped out of a cupboard and shot someone else you'd be complaining too.
It was shitty writing, but it was forgivable as the story had hit at a dead end anyway.
>rewrite the last third of your movie because the script leaked online and you turn an otherwise good movie into one of your more mediocre films
