In the 1990s, he faced charges related to a video camera he had installed in a women’s restroom in a restaurant that he owned. A class action suit was brought against him for that and he settled out of court. However, a police raid of his house discovered videos of women in the restroom, including one who was a minor, as well as 62 grams of marijuana. In order to avoid felony drug and child abuse charges, he pled guilty to misdemeanor marijuana possession. He was given a suspended sentence, 2 years unsupervised probation, and ordered to pay $5000 to a local hospital.
