Do you think he actually liked the music he talked about? I just finished reading the book and while majority of music chapters are basically copypasted opinions from other people, very rarely he does speak as if he has an opinion (like saying "I find this song...").

He listens to music with headphones and when he's by himself, that doesn't really help him fit in so I think he enjoys it
Don't go fuckin with the dubs now
It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.
Patrick Bateman is the embodiment of the ideal American according to popular culture of the 80s
