What are some "period movies" that really get the feel of the time and place right? The kind where you just get sucked into the world. Some favorites of mine are:
There Will Be Blood
Master and Commander
The Assassination of Jesse James
The Master
The Revenant
There are obviously quite a few good war ones, but I guess I'm looking for movies without the war backdrop.
Aguirre
Road to Perdition
The Patriot
Cinderella Man
BONE TOMAHAWK
IDGAF

If you're willing to ignore that bear which moved way too fast to be believable, I guess

That bear scene was absolutely redundant to be honest. Felt like a gimmick. The screenplay felt half baked.

O' Brother, Where Art Thou?
Apocalypto, even if its depiction of mayan civilization wasn't really accurate.
Historical accuracy aside, that movie had some great costuming and makeup.

Once Upon a Time in America

The Outlaw Josey Wales
I feel all Bid movies classify as period pieces, as they all speak miles of the time they were made. So, those I giess
