Critics all hate his movies and rightly so but I decided to check how how much money he made on his movies and he made a huge profit on all of them. I can forgive his romantic comedies like Just Go with It and Blended because they are glorified tropical vacations fro the cast and are no better or worse than anything else in the genera.

Men, Women & Children was just an acting gig from an Oscar nominated writer/director so you cant blame him for overall quality, he probably thought it was his next Punch Drunk Love.

The Hotel Transylvania movies are probably great for their target demographic and seem to be decently reviewed.

People dislike That's My Boy but I think it can be argued has its own R-rated charm and the only truly awful part is Sandlers voice choices.

But honestly I don't think there is a way a single person could enjoy or defend Jack and Jill, The Grown Ups movies, Pixels, The Ridiculous 6, or The Do-Over.

You can make the argument that Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer were good movies, but if that makes him good you might end up arguing that Pauly Shore used to be good. If you think stuff like The Waterboy was good, I recommend you try watching it.

Adam Sandler has perfected the art of selling out. He spends a fortune taking his friends on a big vacation to make a movie, let's everybody just sort of do their thing, and packs the movie with so much product placement that ticket expectations are super low. Add to that his fan base among people in foreign countries who barely or don't speak English who genuinely think he's funny, and every movie is a success. Even Happy Gilmore spent ten minutes of screen time selling Subway sandwiches. The story genuinely has the plot point of the main character selling out, and then it goes right to the commercial.
