I didn't notice any similarities to Scorsese.

The problem that I had with this film, and most, if not all, of David O Russel's films is that they are incredibly uninteresting and boring. They are competently made but there is absolutely no reason to watch them because he has nothing to say as an artist and filmmaker. I can't think of any other mainstream director that lacks as much vision or heart.

It's kind of hard to connect with any of the characters when they're all obnoxious assholes. Without that immersive element for the audience, it quickly becomes a bore. There's not ONE (1, uno) memorable scene or performance in that movie.
