So I just finished watching The Pacific and Hacksaw Ridge and wanted to request any shows/movies that are similar for the European front.
Band of Brothers
Generation War (unsere mütter unsere väter)
Saving Private Ryan

Best war movie to come out of Germany. Some parts are a bit cheesy but the tank battle is GOAT.
>>80250184
But they were after 1942, weren't they?

Thank you sir, i'm writing all of these down. Sorry I should be on /r/ but they're much more toxic than here.

Also double thanks, I've always watned to learn more about that battle. Being it the the most brutal to come out of the war.

I'll look into this. I love history current and past. Much appreciated.

It's definitely the most accurate movie i'v seen about Stalingrad. I'v read a lot about the Eastern Front in WW2 and I feel like this movie has been the best one to actually capture what it was like. There are still some historical inconsistencies but its nowhere near the terrible shitfest that is Enemy at the Gates.
Also listen to this anon>>80250526
No so much a "war" movie but its the most accurate portrayal of what Nazi occupied Russia was like.
>>80250817
Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks and +1 internets.
>>80250270
Did you expect them to put the leader of every Allied state as a 'main leader'?
50-something leaders sitting in a room deciding what to do in a global conflict, yeah that will go over well
Time for naziboo butthurt

The Winter War (1989)
The Brest Fortress
Cross of Iron
My Way
The Bridge
April 9th
Das Boot
Army of Shadows
They're all good. Ordered by similarity.

No they had their own faction, the comintern. They were "part" of the allies because they shared a common enemy. But its not like any of the western allies actually considered them an allied nation. Even before the war was over the Soviets and Allies were planning on splitting Europe between each other. That's not something countries in the same faction would do.
is Rules of Engagement good?
I almost never hear anything about it and it's got 36% on RT, so I'm hesitant.
