It's kind of hard to explain if you don't read Jojo yourself.

I've seen all these fucking Jojo memes all over the place I talked to people here about it, but they told me to "read the manga" instead, since there's too much material.

I spent a month reading all 1,000 chapters, and while the story was unique and great, the endings to most if not all of them were dumb as fuck. They basically make the final boss so overpowered or so strong that they need to make bullshit up or have asspulls at the very end to have the boss defeated.

I'd recommend you reading the story from Part 3 onwards if you want to pick it up.

All parts of the stories are basically connected, since it's a generation of Jojos from 1 part to another.

Part 1 and Part 2 using Hamon and masks while Part 3 onwards uses stands, so if you want to skip parts you can start from Part 3. There'll be some names you won't get, but it's fine.

Start with the 2012 anime since Part 1 is the weakest part and Part 2's anime is the only part better than the manga. Read the first half of Part 3's manga then watch the anime for the second half. Read and watch the manga and anime for Part 4.

Parts 1-6 are interconnected. Part 7-8 take place in an alternate universe. Regardless, don't skip parts.

Araki wrote himself into a corner with how broken King Crimson is, so he just makes "No" the Stand, the movie, the (Gold) Experience in order to abruptly end the part.

It would have been better if the final fight was like DIO's World with everyone contributing, but again it felt rushed and sour as a result.

7 > 4 > 6 > 5 > 2 > 3 >1

SO is slower-paced but where Araki's writing starts to mature from shonen to seinen. Jolyne is the most well-written and developed JoJo besides Johnny.

But yes, most people on /a/ don't like Stone Ocean because of the slower pacing and/or they didn't understand the ending.

People love Dio, but DIO from Part 3 is the worst villain writing wise, since he only appears at the very end in the final fight.
