Thats nothing. I saw The VVitch in a New England theater Thanksgiving holiday. Some family dressed as pilgrims prepared a feast

While I agree that Interstellar is heavily flawed, it was the best cinema experience of my life.
Pure audio visual candy, anyone who has seen it in true IMAX will confirm this.

The narrative is a mess like every Nolan film but my god the launch sequence, the wormhole, the waves, the docking scene... I can't imagine watching that for the first time on a 13 inch Toshiba laptop.

Literally my experience with the new Godzilla. I watched every movie with my brother and dad as a kid so the new one meant alot. Some little autistic fucking shit wouldnt stop making noises next to me and the parents didnt do a damn thing.

As a manager at a theatre, I dread our remodel coming next month.

Less seats means more sellouts (most of our houses will go down to ~80 seats), which means more irrationally angry asshole, and longer operating hours (due to not being able to close the theater on a sellout) while still having to work with the same severely cut payroll budget.

i only watch films alone

they just built a new Regal theater in my town, supposed to be one of the "high end" versions

it fucking SUCKS

The screens are just, as far as i can tell, a painted white wall with really obvious texture. Like, any time the movie is showing a face, the sky, or just a lot of light/white, you can easily see the texture of the wall it's being projected on, so fucking distracting. Plus, the're clearly dimming their projectors to save money (which doesn't actually save that much money, but whatever), because the screens are so fucking dark.

Not only that, the sound system is fucking shit. The audio quality itself is okay, but any time there are really deep bassy noises (think of any modern Hans Zimmer soundtrack, or any action movie) you can hear the fucking air conditioning systems rattling from the vibrations.

I literally drive into the poorer town which is 10 miles further just to sit in their old shitty theater because it is STILL better than this new "luxury" one
