I love the different actor's Hannibal Lector in this movie. Hopkin's Lector is so fucking cartoonish and goofy. The guy in Manhunter actually felt like a real character.

It was to show that she wasn't some innocent, vulnerable flower despite her obvious vulnerability. She was quite forward with Dolarhyde too, she knew all about sex and wasn't afraid of it.

It also, to me, gave a hint to her subconcious magnetism to power/savagery. Dolarhyde himself a slumbering beast when not being The Dragon. She was drawn to and turned on by sex and danger.
