If prime Simpsons aired today instead of when they did, /tv/ would call it reddit tier.

Based on what?
no because i started it from the beginning back in 2015 and thought it was good, i didnt feel that cringe when i see r3dd1t stuff like deadpool
Not really since most of the comedy is pretty subtle and subtlety is the opposite of reddit.
/tv/ and reddit do share good shows, but its the fandom that I hate personally. I just know fandom shit like 'DUDE look at my new simpsons tshirt I bought LMAO' happens at reddit so I hate that place
only if it would be popular

The internet community was shitting on The Simpsons from the start, that's why there's so much nerd parody on the show in the early days. Look up the old bulletin board reviews on SNPP, they're declaring that the show jumped in the shark in 1992, and shit hard on stuff now considered classic.

even classic simpsons was nothing but pop culture and current events references.
But since they ripped whole jokes, in their entirety, from other successful comedic works that sheltered TV audiences would never encounter, most of this flew under people's radar.
