Probably some shit nova documentary she stole off pbs.
True story: when our teacher was out of the room one of the kids was looking for something and found a VHS porno in his desk. Swapped it out with the movie we were supposed to be watching and when he pushed play a porn came on.
Same teacher was later fired for giving one of the students a backrub after class. He was a legit perv.

There are a couple of movies i enjoy quite alot, Silence of the Lambs and The Deer Hunter are some that i rewatched recently so they're probably at the top of the list at the moment.
Then again i dont actually watch alot of movies and when i do, its usually more silly stuff, Goldmember, naked gun, REC, Evil Dead, shit like that.
Got some good stuff on my HDD that i havent watched yet though.
I once had a teacher who was in his final year before retirement. He showed us Bad Boys II saying it involved "race relations" and that I Am Sam was a documentary about Sean Penn.

>they were avoiding the law in the first place
Not prior to 1807 they weren't. We're not talking about bringing slaves back to work on your farm in England, we're talking about buying and selling them to make money or using your money to buy a plantation somewhere and using them there.
If you're a Brit then you and your ancestors benefited from the slave trade and every other shitty thing the British Empire did, because the money the British families made from selling slaves to foreigners were then spent in Britain and made it the powerhouse that it became. Should you feel everyday dread for what your ancestors were a part of? Of course not. But you shouldn't close your eyes to it and how your life has benefited from it.
Trying to make up this story that it's only the evil Americans who are to blame for the slave trade is fucking retarded. Plenty of European countries benefited from it. They just didn't lose the hot-potato-game of being one of the last ones to abolish it.

they were avoiding the law, they had to start enforcing it and they would end up dumping "cargo"
I know it wasn't just america, It was a world wide trade and people would buy slaves from other tribes as was the custom at the time
you still can't just go to other regions in the uk and tell them 2% of one particular region in america owned slaves by a few rich families in the uk and colonists who could afford a fleets or ships
you can tell people slavery is bad, you can't make them feel guilty for something they didn't do or had zero control, Its not like the common man even had a vote back then

Even people actually practising law praises its portrayal.
12 Angry Men on the other hand gives a terrible view of the juror system, where they do a whole bunch of shit they wouldn't be allowed to do and which would have resulted in a mistrial. It's a good movie, but not for fucking law class.

This takes me back to 1980s highschool. It was either Nova (I still watch their stuff, quite good) or 'Nature of Things.'
Or 'Hinterland Who's Who'. (Canucks will recognize the flute music used in these productions):

I saw this THREE times in school. My teachers love this movie.

Mid 2000 I was in 10th grade. Before 2nd period a teacher pulled me aside, said I need to follow him to the office. I had no idea what it was about but I could tell by his tone I wasn't in trouble. We went past the office into the staff room, inside I saw the TV cart (with a new DVD player), popcorn, pizza, ice cream, a few other kids. The teacher told us we all had a perfect attendance record and this was our reward. He popped a DVD copy of The Matrix in the player and left. Before he closed the door he said "don't tell nobody". Damn that was a cool day.

Proof that good pasta never dies.
Also proof that this site is now officially full of newfags that have come here from more mainstream PC site.
No wonder you hear an SJW screaming out "Go back to /pol/" every other minute when something non-PC is said now a days.

I didn't see it in school, but I think watching Walkabout and The Blue Lagoon at a young age probably had the most impact on me, out of any movies. They were so different from everything else that was shown on tv, either in the subjects or the style.

My 9th grade shop teacher put on Ghost with Patrick Swayze twice in the same year. He was old and kinda surly, and the class was all boys so it was a head scratcher for me. Maybe it was the only tape he had.

You're lucky. We got "West Side Story" instead.
I took a """forensics""" class where the teacher just played CSI episodes on Mondays and Fridays. She would record them on VHS and FF through the commercials too. This was around 2008...

That's sweet, did you get to see the extended cuts of either of them?
I really like most historical films, dramas, epics, whatever it is as long as it's set in some period other than the present.
I'd've enjoyed it so much had any of my teachers let us see any in our classes.
School was such an awful experience altogether.
