Kino or pseudokino?
I started watching this last night, do I think it's good?
If you just started watching it's probably not getting good yet
but it gets really good
>>80134605
You don't understand what is kino and what is psuedokino. So, don't talk about it. Go finish it first, then make a thread again.
>>80134605
yes it gets better and better, then season 3 starts and literally shits in your mouth.
>>80134605
Yeah it's good. Season 2 finale is one of the best episodes of a tv show I ever seen.
I petered out halfway through one. The case of the week stuff was a bore, each week more gruesome than the next. Does it move onto a larger narrative, like Justified did from starting case of the week, or is this it?
>>80134715
It's just like justified. The villain of the week stuff is basically to introduce all the characters. It becomes a proper show after a while
>>80134605
You think it is fantastic and will wonder why it was cancelled just 3 seasons in
Personally I thought this show was pretentious, but I really wanted to like it because I like Mads and Laurence Fishburne is underrated. But I've generally disliked most NBC "drama" shows in the recent era (they all seem so clean and artificial).
>>80134605
Its fantastic. Especially seasons 2 and 3
>>80134605
The definition of pseudokino
>>80134605
You think it's pretty good, and when S2 comes you'll be wanking to just the thought of it, hands-free. S1 psycho of the week stuff was stupid, but at least it mostly connects to everything. When watching S3 you'll kinda like it, but it will never bring you back to the pure bliss that is S2. Everything ends, deal with it. 11/10
>>80134700
the season 3 finale (and series finale) is also great
>>80135005
This. It's totally hollow.
Am I the only one that loved s3? It started out pretty bad in the first few episodes, but it got a lot better.
I don't even remember what the s2 finale everyone talks about was. I probably need to rewatch and stop drinking so much
It has its head up its own ass a bit much at times, but it's still thoroughly entertaining and has fucking amazing cinematography for a television series.
S1 and 2 are the best though, the final season was hot garbage 90% of the time aside from the visuals still being solid.
>>80135086
It was and still is better then anythng else currently on network tv
>>80135108
I loved season 3. The mason verger mansion episode is one of my favorites. and the red dragon section is better then either manhunter or the red dragon movie
everyone who says that season 3 is significantly worse is a moron. Its far better then the first season
almost ruined by a pretentious director. Sometimes the I'M DIRECTING moments are so in your face it's tiring. The casting is pretty good though.
Mads as hannibal is amazing.
kino
Does it have a lot of gore and disgusting as in bloody, cutting and so on moments? That's the only thing preventing me from watching it. Or is that gracefully omitted?
>>80137031
Nah, man, nothing gross going on at all.
>>80134605
>do I think it's good?
you what
the most visually appealing show i've seen on tv, and has a pretty great story after the original 'killer of the week' bit of season 1 ends
Season 3 is super divisive, it's too 'arty' for some people i guess. The relationship between Graham and Hannibal is definitely what drives the show though
Also Margot is top qt
>>80139364
spot on
>>80134605
Show should have ended after season 2. It was way too perfect.

>>80137031
there's a moment where someone's glued to another person and they rip some of their flesh off in order to escape, thats all I found a bit gross. they put this dark filter over everything and its made to look very artsy rather than realistic.
>>80139364
>autism
>>80134605
Second half of season one to the end of season 2 is fantastic television.
>>80140227
red dragon part of season 3 also
>>80140325
I need to get around to finishing season 3. First time I tried to, I just lost interest while they were in Italy.
>>80140458
it gets much better. the final scene of the show is pure kino
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePkEVjAF8o4
>>80134605
why did it go full homo by the end though
>>80134605
The most kino a show can get. I'm still looking for a worthy substitute. So far nothing I started was as fulfilling and rich as Hannibal was.
I honestly don't mind the killer of the week approach from the first season, and I think the self indulgence of season 3 has it's own appeal.
Whenever a new thread pops up, I remember how much I miss it... did anybody find anything similar they can recommend?
>>80141533
Where else to go after what they've put each other through? Who else can satisfy the need to be understood and accepted?
Both gave other partners a shot and failed because it didn't cover their needs.
Their relationship isn't even necessarily homo by the end, it's how you choose to interpret it. Sure it's some twisted version of love but they consummated in the form of a shared murder, not fucking. That's the physical outlet of their choice.
I liked it, I didn't like how /tv/ made me think the show was a homofest though
>>80137446
>Mads will never shove his hose down your throat
Life is cruel.
>>80142294
The need to hypersexualize a relationship is a reflex for many people because it simplifies characters' behavior and justifies their actions.
If there are complex emotions involved it's easier to accept them if the end result is fucking, because why else would one want to go though all that trouble.
>>80135086
>It's totally hollow.
how?

a tribute I did quite some time ago

>You'll never have a bf to stab and abuse at your leisure.
What's the point.
>>80142904
I wouldn't mind a spinoff solely dedicated to cooking people tbqh.
Season 3 is diarrhea sandwich but 1 and 2 are quality kino
Just passing through..
