Believe it or not, Korean language is not related to the Chinese language, and it's pretty difficult for Korean speaker to learn to speak Chinese and vice versa.

Japanese and Korean are in its own language group that is distant from all modern languages kinda like how Basque isn't anything like other European languages.

Can somebody give a rundown on China-Korea-Better Korea-Japan dynamic? I thought all these countries despise each other?

Dunno about the rest but Japan and SKorea are very amicable if you don't count the older generations.
