What is important is for a review to be an interesting twist on the movie it is reviewing and uses it to say something of importance...
His reviews are eloquent and often interesting to read and through them he makes interesting comments about society and people.

A movie criticism is like a movie in a sense except a movie is a biger time investment and a movie criticism revovles around a film while the film itself revolves around the subject it is about.

A review is an estimation of the quality of a film. If the reviewer's standards are as esoteric and personal as Armond's, it loses all value as an estimation of quality.

If you read them as the socio-political blurbs of someone who has lost all concept of "objective quality" then I guess they're sort of fun. But somebody so far outside the mainstream consciousness is just as often tiring as they are interesting.
