the sci-fi novel I really want to see adapted is Left Hand of Darkness, but no idea how you could do justice to it.

Did you know that Stranger in a Strange Land has been optioned dozens of times but never been adapted. Sci-fi has the rights now, we'll see if they do anything with them.

well the main EG series only is really 5 books, the original 4 + exile
then there's shadow, which is 4, plus a bonus 5th short thing (and technically an unreleased 6th that's been announced for years)
then the new trilogy of the first war, the 1st book of the 2nd war trilogy, and a handful of short stories

so in all, the 2 classic series, the 2 new series (incomplete), and short stories

i'd say they all went in their own diverse directions. EG post-exile became philosophical, shadow post-shadow became political, while the 1st war trilogy is sort of more straightforward sci-fi adventure

can't blame you much, exile wasn't very good. i'd recommend checking out the first war though, takes a little to get going since all 3 books are one story, with multiple characters that eventually meet up, but it's OSC in collaboration with another author. i thought it was neat if you care more about formic wars than philosophy/politics
