Lets talk about Shin Godzilla. Who /SKREEOOOOOONNNK/ here?
I loved the little details that were a throwback to the old Godzilla films. Hearing those songs and roars taken straight from the source was fucking delightful. Likewise, I couldnt believe my ears when I heard the battle music from Evangelion. Anno certainly has his method, I guess. It was still such an awesome surprise to hear.
Also how about the final shot of the film? Fucking blindsided me, nearly shit myself.
Two things I'd like to praise. First, loved how the movie managed to have a since of humor despite the serious tone, and how creepy Godzilla himself could be. Secondly, the entire sequence when dusk finally hits and Godzilla attacks Tokyo. Honestly took my god damn breath away, no pun intended.

On the bright side, the film comes out on BD in moonland next month, so we'll finally be able to watch the theatrical cut.
