My guess is that Rey was created through the Force by Snoke, similar to how Anakin was created by Sheev and Plagueis. It's the best way to explain why she's so naturally talented at everything, and makes for a tweest. Could just be that JJ is a hack but it felt like TFA was aware of how OP Rey was and just chose not to explain it until the next movie.

If she was Luke's daughter that would make him a huge asshole, and I don't think Disney would go down that road.
